A girl with a light

What can I say about this image? I thought the concept could be quite nice, but I was looking for a different kind of illumination and atmosphere. I got a bit tired with the background and wanted to start some other drawing, and now I see so many mistakes I'd try to avoid for next time... It's always interesting to check your old illustrations out and see what must have gone wrong. I feel like trying a similar one again! Let's see how it goes.

Athania. Some characters

Some characters I designed a while ago for a story set up in a distopic future, Athania. Elves and humans are fighting each other to conquer the Earth, control its resources and kill or enslave the other race. When I have some time, the idea is adding up some colours and write some longer story for each one of them.
Athania, the first one, is an elf and an accomplished politician.
Phileas is the leader of the humans and quite charismathic, but too ruthless for my taste.
The Seer is an enigmatic girl who has no pupils in her eyes and is said that can foresee the future, though the reality is quite different.

Lena Öztürk

A high-class businesswoman from the late 21^st century, called Yelena Öztürk. Mixed Turkish and Russian ancestry. 

A self-made woman, makes millions selling “citizenship services” (a mixture of insurance, military protection and Mafia-style favours) in a Balkanised, stateless world. Well-traveled, smart, ruthless, half diplomat and half entrepreneur. 

A strong personality, great business sense and sharp intelligence – paired with an implanted AI assistant. 

Her current mission – sell citizenship to the most difficult client possible, the independent and fabulously propsperous orbital settlers of space station Paraphernalia.

Life drawing sketches (1)

Some life drawing sketches I did these past weeks. Now I'm busy with work and the comic book I'm doing, but at least I'm able to draw every day a little bit. And you can feel the results.

Daenerys fanart (1)

This is how my fanart of Daenerys is going so far. My next step will be finishing her dress and adding up the dragons around, for which I've been doing a few sketches. I'm pretty happy with how everything is coming out, though I want to work on her hair and especially the light around a bit more. It'll be sorted out when I start defining the hues of the sky and so on.

Sketches

I've been sketching some characters these past few days. I really wanted to try a bit with different skin colors. Hence the black girl (somehow similar to Rihanna) and the two other girls, who have mixed Caucasian and Asian ancestors.
At the beginning of the exercise I told myself I wasn't going to use any kind of directional light, but here you have the first study, with a quite visible beam of light reflected in the right part of her face.
I'd probably be a good idea working on something more detailed with the white haired girl as a protagonist.
